Kayla Burchfield, MSSW, LCSW, LCASA

Kayla is a dedicated mental health and addiction professional who has been serving individuals and families in the behavioral health field since 2016. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Kentucky University before relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she began her career working in an inpatient psychiatric and detox treatment facility. Motivated by a passion for helping those facing mental health and substance use challenges, Kayla went on to earn her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2019. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree, further advancing her expertise in behavioral health, clinical practice, and leadership.

Kayla is credentialed as an LCSW  and LCAS. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience working with individuals and groups across a variety of treatment settings. Her professional background includes conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, providing individual and group therapy, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and supporting clients through all stages of recovery.

In addition to her clinical work, Kayla has served in leadership and management roles, contributing to program development, team supervision, and the delivery of high-quality behavioral healthcare services. Her diverse experience has provided her with a strong understanding of both the clinical and operational aspects of treatment.

As a clinical director at New Waters Recovery, Kayla is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers clients to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and achieve meaningful, lasting change. She believes in meeting clients where they are and fostering a supportive therapeutic environment that promotes healing, growth, and long-term recovery.
