Aqua Burrell

Meet Aqua Burrell, RN BSN, our Director of Nursing. Aqua joins our team with 13 years as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse with experience in inpatient nursing care, assessment, referrals, and intake. She was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. After graduation, she subsequently worked as a Charge Nurse in a Mental Health/Detox facility in Eastern North Carolina, while also working as a part-time Clinical Educator with Eastern AHEC, focusing on Effective Communication and Management of Patients and Families in crisis. Her career has been driven by a passion to serve her community through advocation and education. As a Duke University Medical Center ECT Nurse Fellow, she was an integral piece in the development of the Electroconvulsive Therapy program at a local inpatient hospital located in Raleigh, NC. Aqua has held several leadership positions including Nursing Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Admissions and Intake.
