Tori earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from North Caroling Central University in Durham, NC. Tori has been working in the recovery community for 9 years as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and now a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Prior to joining New Waters Recovery, Tori has worked in all levels of care supporting individuals as a clinician through facility-based crisis and stabilization, residential substance use programing, outpatient services, and the clinical director of a Substance Use Intensive Outpatient Program. Tori is a HAES (Healthy At Every Size) aligned clinician and has worked to support those struggling with Eating Disorders to develop compassion towards their bodies in residential and outpatient settings.
Tori entered her master’s program in 2012 with a strong passion in helping those struggling with Substance Use Disorder and their loved ones. Tori knows that recovery can be overwhelming with feelings of fear, doubt, and the unknown. She believes that providing a safe and compassionate space for those recovering from substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other co-occurring concerns can lead to a more mindful and empowering recovery process.
