Alex Watkeys

Alex was born in Huntington, WV and at a young age moved to North Carolina with family. After graduating high school in Greenville, NC he moved to attend college and graduated from Western Carolina University in 2016 with a degree in Psychology. Following graduation, he worked in various medical facilities while also pursuing education in varying fields related to medical, and mental health issues. While searching for a purpose, Alex made a choice and followed a path to getting sober in 2020 in Raleigh, NC and is now focusing his skills on working with those diagnosed with Substance Use Disorder to offer his educational, as well as, lived experience as the Lead Recovery Advocate at New Waters Recovery.
